Do we accept insurance?

We currently accept the following insurances:

• South Carolina Medicaid (no MCOs a this time)

• Tricare (participating non-network)

• Private pay for all clients with private insurances or no insurance

  We are out-of-network with private insurances, but do offer superbills that can be emailed to you through our secure online portal. You are then welcome to submit this form to your insurance for direct reimbursement to you based on your individual plan.
  

What does our overall process look like?

1. To begin OT services, we will need a referral from your child’s pediatrician. Please have your pediatrician email or fax us a referral:

2. Intake forms will then be sent to you via email through our secure online portal. 

3. A thorough evaluation will be scheduled with one of our licensed occupational therapists and a plan of care with goals specific to your child will be created.

4. Treatment can then begin. We love to play as we learn around here, so get ready to have fun in OT!

Who will be my child’s therapist? 

• We currently have 3 wonderful OTs on our team at Empower Pediatric Therapy. You will be paired with the therapist that can best meet your child and family’s scheduling and functional needs.

What is the typical turnaround time from evaluation to treatment?

• Evaluation reports are typically completed within 7-10 business days and then therapy can begin! Your therapist will go over results from your child’s initial evaluation at their first scheduled treatment session to discuss goals for therapy.

How long is each session? How often will my child be treated?

• Occupational therapy sessions are typically 60 minutes long and occur 1-2 times per week or every other week depending on your child’s unique needs.

Where will the treatment sessions take place?

• Most of our services take place in our clinic in North Augusta, SC. We also have a limited number of spots open for in-home or daycare visits in the Aiken, SC area. Reach out to us for more information!
